In Asheville, NC the second week of October means Oktoberfest!! If you are a fan of German inspired fun, then you need to put Oktoberfest on your calendar for October 10, 2015 from 1-6pm!
Every year, a purchased ticket allows tastings from local breweries providing samplings of their brews. (See list below) Your ticket provides you with a tasting mug that you can refill as many times as you choose with as many varieties as you wish to try. Games and activities will be present as well as entertainment from a local polka group, Lagerhosen. Lagerhosen will perform polkas, waltzes, and drinking songs to keep the party going!
German food as well as pretzels and bratwursts, T-Shirts and merchandise are available for additional purchasing.
Oktoberfest is geared towards adults 21 and over, however children are allowed in but are recommended to stay home. Anyone 7 and younger is admitted free, but between the ages of 8 and 21 a designated driver or children’s ticket must be purchased to enjoy the festivities.
Oktoberfest will be held on Woodfin St in Asheville this year. If you are coming in from out of town, there are several hotels where you will be able to stay in the area. If you are local, there are city garages for parking, otherwise taking advantage of the local taxi system will save you the headache of trying to find a parking space.
Grab your friends, don your lederhosen and come out on Saturday October 10th to our local Oktoberfest for some good food, local brews and lots of fun!
