After a visit to the Omni Orlando Championsgate Trevi’s Breakfast Buffet in Kissimmee, Florida, I’m just a little bit giddy at finding a unique treasure that I never knew existed in Orlando.
Trevi’s Breakfast Buffet Among the Best in Orlando
I wandered into this restaurant one morning expecting a lackluster breakfast.
What I found was a local-grown, allergy-friendly, treasure trove of delights with a unique story that I couldn’t wait to tell everyone about!
I’ll tell you about the local, healthy foods in a minute. But first, the real stand out of this story is Allie.
Homemade Salsas
I wandered up to the egg and omelette station and started talking to Allie, who is proud to make you a made-to-order omelette. This friendly lady has great pride in her job, and a zest of life in doing it.
Allie hand crafts a selection of salsas and spicy accompaniments each day for the restaurant. The pico de gallo, yeah, that was made by Allie this morning. She uses her own recipes, and has been doing so for two years.
The unusual array of salsas was such a delight, and got RAVE reviews at my table. They are a must-try item on the Trevi breakfast buffet.
Florida Grits Bar
What else tempted me? How about a Florida grits bar?
Yes, a grits bar!!! This southern girl who has been transported to Florida loves her grits, but most restaurants can’t serve them right. Not here.
I had two servings of Florida Stone Ground grits with traditional fixings such as cheddar cheese, bacon and sausage. Florida rock shrimp was also a topping.
I was happy with the grits bar. What took me over the top was a country biscuits and sausage gravy station. You can take the girl out of the south, but you can’t take the south out of the girl, y’all!
Allergy Friendly Foods
At the artisanal breads and pastries section, goat butter was actually an option for your bread. Goat butter? Where else do you ever see goat butter at a restaurant?
Also part of the pasties section was a surprising array of accompaniments, including almond butter and cashew butter.
There was even a display about gluten and what it is. Interesting to find that on a breakfast buffet of all places, but it looks like Trevi’s is concerned about food allergies and making sure their guests have options.
Gluten-free cereals and muffins are on the menu.
The Florida’s Farmers Market section highlighted local fruits and where they came from.
A granola bar and oatmeal bar offered hearty, healthy options with plenty of toppings.
Trevi’s Breakfast Buffet Menu
A charcuterie station featured Italian meats and accompaniments.
The hot bar featured eggs, bacon, burritos, French toast, potatoes, sausage and pancakes.
Trevi’s offers a breakfast buffet ($25) as well as a standard menu for the first meal of the day, which starts at 6:30 a.m. Menus are shown below.
