The Flowering Yellow and Pink Trees at Walt Disney World

At Walt Disney World and all throughout Orlando and central Florida, gorgeous flowering trees are springing to life. The yellow and pink trumpet shaped flowers are so colorful and gorgeous that everyone stops to stare and take a picture. And then the inevitable happens. Someone asks, “What kind of tree is that?” And no one knows.

What Are the Flowering Trees at Disney World?

These gorgeous pink and yellow flowering trees are called Tabebuia. No one remembers the name or how to say it, but anyone in central Florida can tell you that they certainly do put on a show in early spring.

Tabebuia only bloom for a few weeks in Orlando and at Walt Disney World. If there is a rainstorm or windstorm to knock off all the flowers, the show is even shorter.

As the flowering trees go through their stunning blooming season, the ground underneath is covered with colorful blooms. It is kind of like a maple tree in the fall. Even the things that fall off of the Tabebuia tree are gorgeous on the ground.

Either way, the flowering trees are in full bloom in Orlando usually at the beginning of February and throughout the month.

There are plenty of flowering Tabebuia trees inside the Walt Disney World theme parks. You will only see them bloom for a short amount of time each year, so make plans to visit in the early Spring!

Lois,

We're not sure of Apopka locations. Perhaps call a local gardening center and ask for recommendations.
