If you’re traveling as a family to the beach, you know how much you crave lots of space and easy access to the ocean. For your next Florida vacation, the Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Augustine Oceanfront Resort is the perfect place for a relaxing and fun getaway.
Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Augustine Oceanfront Resort
I was invited by the Embassy Suites St. Augustine Oceanfront Resort to experience their new concept in family suites.
With a new opening comes a new attention to detail and what travelers want. And today, couples, families, business travelers and family reunions want more space, more modern comforts and plenty of amenities.
The Embassy Suites St. Augustine Oceanfront Resort definitely delivers.
This particular St. Augustine area Embassy Suites is unique in a variety of ways, including:
- One of only 12 Embassy Suites resorts in the United States and Puerto Rico
- Around 17 different room concepts
- An inspiration for future Embassy Suites designs
- One of the VERY FEW dining locations with a view of the ocean in St. Augustine Beach
Embassy Suites Resorts
First of all, I didn’t even know that there were Embassy Suites resort locations, did you?
Yep, you get all of the great benefits of Embassy Suites, with a resort-like atmosphere, too.
That might make the price tag of a stay at an Embassy Suites resort seem a little higher than you are used to, but you get more amenities with the stay.
Embassy Suites Amenities
Families love Embassy Suites for its amenities. And I agree – the value that you get at Embassy Suites is great!
You can enjoy amenities such as:
- Free made-to-order hot breakfast
- Evening reception with beer, wine, premium spirits and light snacks
- Microwave and mini refrigerator
- Seating area
Room Concepts
The new Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Augustine Oceanfront Resort has a variety of different room concepts at the location that you can choose from. These rooms offer more space and a more home-like feel.
Couples might be more interested in the studio suites, such as a 1 Room Studio Suite, with 415 square feet of living space, including a king-size bed, sofa, microwave, refrigerator and Embassy Suites standard amenities.
I stayed in a new concept of a Family Suite at the Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort.
This room offers a living room and kitchen area, along with a private bedroom that has a king bed and a bunk bed area. What makes this nice for families is that the two bunk beds are separated by a half wall, giving the kids some visual privacy and letting them feel like they have their own unique space.
The bunk bed area has its own TV and a bean bag chair, too.
Our Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort Review
We stayed for one night in March at Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort. It’s about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Orlando, which makes a nice staycation. We loved stopping at St. Augustine Distillery and the Ice Plant Bar beforehand to enjoy great food and a free distillery tour. (Here’s some more fun and free things to do in St. Augustine.)
Downtown St. Augustine is crowded, though, and it can be hard to feel like you’ve got space to relax. So it was enjoyable to drive about 10 minutes outside of downtown (where Castillo de San Marcos and the Old Town is) and stay in St. Augustine Beach.
You’ll pass O’Steens on your way to the resort, which is a restaurant we love, too!

Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort Pictures
The first reactions to seeing Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach is WOW! The spacious resort has an amazing location, and the views of the ocean when walking into the lobby area show you what a great oceanside location you are going to enjoy.
The lobby is gorgeous. In fact, it has won design awards for the elegant coastal vibe that is displayed throughout the resort.
Outdoors, the amount of small seating areas to enjoy the ocean breezes and beach views are impressive. I like the small group settings, many with fire pits and rocking chairs, that invite you to curl up and relax.
The infinity pool is just a short distance from the ocean, so you can enjoy the sounds of the waves crashing while relaxing on a pool chair watching kids play in the pool.
The nearby Castaway Cantina offers Latin-inspired cuisine and is one of the few places in St. Augustine Beach to enjoy food with an oceanfront setting.
Unfortunately, our one-night visit happened to be the same night that a winter front went through Florida. There are few times when it gets that cold in Florida, and we happened to be staying in the resort on one of days that it did. The heavy winds and temperatures in the low 40s at night prevented us from enjoying the pool, outdoor dining or enjoying the beach.
It looked nice, but the weather was just too miserable to be outdoors.
Our family suite room was impressive with the size. I can definitely see how families would love this amount of space to stretch out and relax during a stay. (Check out our video to see the entire suite):
For technology, there were plenty of outlets and USB charging ports throughout the two rooms so that everyone could charge phones, play games and keep connected.
It’s always nice to have a separate sitting area. And being able to use a microwave and refrigerator during your stay is wonderful, helping you keep costs down by stocking up on snacks and beverages if you’d like.
There was a lack of storage space if you were utilizing the suites for a large family. There is one closet with drawers inside.
Other than that, there were not additional dressers, so if you’re a heavy packer, keep in mind you might need to store some stuff in a suitcase.
We loved being able to lay in bed and see the ocean. Often, oceanfront rooms don’t actually have a view from the bed. So that was a bonus!
The Evening Reception was a nice touch. You had the ability to pay for an upgrade to premium spirts in your complimentary drinks if you’d like.
Dinner and breakfast in Harvest & Reel was delicious! We truly enjoyed both meals. The Pina Colada that I had from the Rhum Bar was among the best that I’ve ever had, it was that good!
Would we go back again? Definitely. This location is excellent, the amenities are great, and the unique features of Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort make this location a winner for fun beach vacations.
