The main restaurant in Diagon Alley is the Leaky Cauldron. One of the best places to eat in Harry Potter world, you will enjoy a hearty meal in a Harry Potter-themed restaurant.

Grab a table in this old pub and take a moment to look for all of the details around and above you. This pub is also an inn and it is where Harry Potter stayed for the summer before heading to Hogwarts for this third year (if you’ve read Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, this is the location!).

Breakfast In Harry Potter World

You might want to get an early start in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and enjoy breakfast in the morning.

We suggest getting to Harry Potter land and seeing what the wait times are. If you can get on a ride without having to wait too long, do the ride first and get breakfast afterwards! You don’t want to waist time eating breakfast and then have to wait in line longer later in the day. Also, you don’t want to ride a roller coaster with a full belly!

Both Harry Potter restaurants at Universal serve breakfast until 10:30 a.m. Opening hours will depend on the day, but generally start around 9 a.m.

Each restaurant has a limited selection of breakfast entrees for $17.99 and kids meals for $12.99. You will not find a la carte menu items that cost less.

Helpful Tip: Personally, we feel it’s better to eat breakfast at your hotel (if it’s included) or bring some snacks to enjoy as breakfast while waiting in attraction lines. Then eat an early lunch in either of these restaurants. Lunch entrees are actually less expensive than the breakfast entrees, plus you can get a rest break in the middle of the day by taking a break for lunch or dinner.

Leaky Cauldron Restaurant

Breakfast is served at the Leaky Cauldron restaurant until 10:30 a.m.

There are 5 entree choices, all of which are $17.99 each, with a small beverage included. There are only two different entrees compared to the Three Broomsticks restaurant.

Butterbeer in Harry Potter World

One of the best dining experiences at Universal’s Harry Potter world is trying butterbeer!

Butterbeer is a famous drink from the Harry Potter books. And though there is beer in the name, it is actually a non-alcoholic drink.

It is a very sweet and tastes like a combination of cream soda and butterscotch flavor.

Butterbeer comes in seven different varieties in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. These include:

  • Frozen Butterbeer (found at Three Broomsticks, Leaky Cauldron, Hog’s Head, The Hopping Pot, Fountain of Fair Fortune, and food service carts)
  • Cold Butterbeer (found at Leaky Cauldron, Hog’s Head, The Hopping Pot, Fountain of Fair Fortune, Three Broomsticks and food service carts
  • Hot Butterbeer (only available in season, found at Three Broomsticks, Leaky Cauldron, Hog’s Head, The Hopping Pot, Fountain of Fair Fortune, and food service carts)
  • Butterbeer Ice Cream (found at Florean Fortescues, Hopping Pot, Three Broomsticks and food service carts; ice cream is either soft-serve or hard-pack ice cream, depending on where you purchase it)
  • Butterbeer Fudge (found at Honeydukes and Sugar Plums)
  • Potted Cream (found at Three Broomsticks and Leaky Cauldron)

You might be able to get your Butterbeer served in a souvenir tankard if you choose the cold or frozen varieties.
